Romans 12:1; "I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."
To present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God is employing Spiritual Worship. What is the Spiritual Worship the Bible talks about? This also implies that there is Physical Worship which many do not know leading to destruction and the kingdom of hell.
Your Spiritual Worship is what God needs from you and nothing else. The Bible quoted in John 4:23-24; "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." The true worshippers are those of the Spiritual Worship. They worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. What do they do to worship Him? Jesus replied; "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment" (Matt. 22:37-38). This is a total sacrifice of your heart, soul and mind you make to the Living God. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart of which he does not despise (Ps. 51:17). Your heart, soul and mind determine your Spiritual Worship. I may ask, is our heart fully set on God? Is your heart a broken one which is humble and calm? Do you have a broken spirit? If then, why do you see yourself on top of everyone. If your heart is fully set on God, why then do you rely on things of the world? Jesus said to the rich man that he should go and sell all his possessions, and give to the poor and follow him if only he wants to be perfect after he had observed all the commandments. The reason was the Spiritual Worship of the rich man that his whole heart will be certainly on God and that is a living sacrifice God needs from each and every one. Jesus wanted man to have a strong foundation so that he could withstand all kinds of temptations as compared to Job.
The Spirit of God is Holy and serving the Father spiritually makes you holy as well. The Spirit of God bears fruits and these include love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The flesh will not give a chance for these righteous deeds to be fulfilled. Let us all live and walk by the Spirit and no more in the flesh.
The Lord seeks those who fully give their hearts, souls and minds to him as a living sacrifice. This is what is acceptable to Him and nothing else. This is to give the worshipper a strong foundation that in all circumstances he will not forget and depart from his Creator. Many people backslide from serving the Lord and are unable to stand against temptations because their hearts, souls and minds are not sacrificed unto God and they rely on things of the world that they should hope in God.
Dear Father, I pray that let me be led by your Holy Spirit at every time. I give all my heart, soul and mind as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you. Lead me into all truths I may diligently walk before you. Thank you for granting me a broken spirit and a contrite heart to be able to worship you spiritually. AMEN! God bless us all...
