As a believer, the Lord does not want you to only call upon His name but needs to generate a spiritual intimacy with His Holy Spirit. This is the very relationship God wants us to build with Him.
So when Christ came, this divine relationship was introduced, which was defined by Loving the Lord with all your Heart, Soul and Mind (Matt. 22:37). An intimacy that goes beyond natural relationships such as marriage, friendship and others. So Jesus said, “Not every one that says Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom but he that does the will of my Father who is in Heaven (Matt. 7:21).” Whenever there is a will to be done, Love must be employed to cause the very will to be established. Love carries that energy and momentum to cause the will of an individual to work. So I may ask, how is your love for God and to what extent? Do you mean you love God? If yes, how is your relationship with Him? Jesus Christ wants you to rekindle your love and return to your first love. The Bible says we should not love the world or the things in the world. What are the very dear things you love? Are they stronger and deeper than your love for God? These are factors to determine your relationship and intimacy with the Father. Bear in mind that our relationship with the Father is that we are sons and daughters of God. The Bible also says those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). Therefore, the sons and daughters of God follow and adhere to the mindset of the Spirit which is the will of the Father. If you want heaven to be your abode, begin to set up a new relationship with God deeper than your love for this world. Nevertheless, your relation to the world will end up in damnation but loving the Lord with all your heart will grant you access to eternal life. The glory of God will be seen in your life and men shall glorify your Father who is in Heaven through you.
