To be a saved soul for Christ is not an easy task at all. But with God, as spoken by Paul to the Philippians all things are possible. Your ability to work out your salvation will not be by your might but by the Holy Spirit.
12. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. To be a saved soul, the Bible talks about FEAR and that is the fear of the Lord. Do you fear the Most High? What does it take for someone to fear God? The Bible said that "Job was blameless and upright, one who feared God, and turned away from evil (Job 1:1). This explains that one who fears the Lord is he that turns away from evil, blameless and upright before God. A servant who fears his master will be the one who obeys and follows his commands and instructions. Therefore, are you doing the same as Job did? Do you obey the voice of God or that of the world? Do you practice righteousness or are you a slave to sin? Salvation will only be yours when a faithful and wise servant whom his master has set over his household to give them their food at the proper time. Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing (Matt 24:45-46). Without fear and trembling, that servant will not provide the food at the appropriate time.
13. For God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. The Bible said "...you will have no power over me unless it had been given to you from above..." (John 19:11). This also means that the power to overcome sin and be a righteous person must also be received from above. You cannot work out your own salvation with your strength or else you fall into the sea and deeply drown without help from anyone.
The fear of the Lord is a seed that grows to become a tree that bears fruit. If that abides not in you, you stumble and fall to rather become a slave to sin. You also bear fruit but those ones are bad and poisoned leading to death. 1 John 3:9; "whoever is born of God do not commit sin; for his seed remain in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." That seed will bear the fruit of the Spirit as in Gal. 5:22 leading to the path to the kingdom of Heaven
Dear Lord, I need salvation so therefore I pray to receive the power to overcome sin. Let the fear of You be highly lifted in me that I may tremble to sin against You. Lead me through the path of righteousness to the gate of Heaven that your name be glorified. AMEN! God bless us all.
